The following students have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least four semester units and have an academic average of 3.6 (based on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

The College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y., today announced that 811 students have been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for the Dean's List.

Where did vintage radio shows go once they had been broadcast? As some college students from this area know, five of those classics will magically turn up on The College of Saint Rose campus in Albany, NY, in "Radio Heaven," a first-of-a-kind presentation by the Saint Rose Drama Program that will enable the audience to hear and see what radio was like more than 50 years ago. "Radio Heaven" will bring back the classic soap opera, comedy, suspense and how-to shows, complete with those wonderfully annoying commercials, performed live with authentic Foley machine sound effects and the ever-present keyboard accompaniment. The shows include "The Betty Crocker Magazine of the Air," "The Romance of Helen Trent," a special episode of "Suspense!" "Captain Midnight" and "Baby Snooks and Daddy." Jingles advertising Chiquita Bananas, Halo Shampoo, Lucky Strike and Carolina Rice will be performed along with period hits like "Bei Mer Bis Du Shoen," "Mairsey Dotes," "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart" and Vera Lynn's "We'll Meet Again." The State University of New York at New Paltz will hold the May 2012 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 20 at 10 a.m. on the Old Main Quadrangle. This year, there are more than 1,900 undergraduate degrees being conferred. There will be 1,291 undergraduate candidates participating in the ceremonies who will celebrate their achievements in the presence of their family and friends. Danielle Brown (Merrick, N.Y.) was selected as this year's valedictorian. Brown will deliver a short speech to her fellow graduates during the ceremony. Corinna L. Ridgeway (Port Crane, N.Y.) is the salutatorian. Ridgeway, who also has a 4.0 GPA, will receive her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a cell and molecular concentration. This ceremony recognizes degrees granted in August and December 2011 and the May 2012 candidates.
